Clueless at the Coffee Station
Clueless at the Coffee Station by Bee Littlefield is a cozy mystery featuring Betti Bryant, a barista who never expected to still be making coffee five years after college. She enjoys her job at The Coffee Station—except for the weekly Open Mic Night, where her ex-boyfriend performs cringeworthy songs about their breakup.
When a local art collection is stolen from the cafe during one of these performances, Betti hopes the incident will convince her boss to cancel Open Mic Night. Instead, he announces plans to sell the cafe to a real estate developer who wants to demolish it. Determined to save the shop, Betti takes on the role of an amateur detective, investigating the crime with only a list of drink orders from the night in question. If she fails, she has promised her sister she will give up on her dream of charting her own path and take a corporate job instead.
The book blends humor, mystery, and a quirky cast of characters. While there’s no murder, the stolen art mystery keeps the stakes high, and Betti’s growth from aimless barista to determined sleuth adds depth to the story. The novel is the first in the Betti Bryant Mystery series and has been praised for its engaging plot and well-developed characters .
